An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a skilled and qualifiedGeneral Machinistto join our Rotatives Derby Compressor Discs and Drums Facility (DCDD) whichis responsible forthe manufacture of Compressor Drums for our large Civil engines.

Your role as a machine operator will involve working on our various CNC machining platforms producing DiscsDrumsand any other commodities we support. You willbe responsible fordelivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements. You will also work with cross functional teams to implement and sustain improvement activities within our manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

In this role you willwork to Rolls-Royces Technical Instructions and program manuals to deliver consistent high-quality machining across a variety of different components and product familiesas well as:

  • Operate a variety of Inspection equipment including machine probing micrometres plug gauges.

  • Interpretation of manufacturing drawings customerdrawingsand written specifications.

  • Assessment of whether the quality of components produced within the facility meets the required standards.

To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Completed an advanced modern engineering apprenticeship* and an NVQ/SVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent qualification.

  • Siemens control system experience is preferred.

  • Experience in 5-axis milling turning drilling and boring.

  • Previousexperience with aerospace components would be an advantage.

  • Clear anddemonstratedunderstanding of drawing interpretation calibration dimensional and visual inspection.

  • Youare an active and patient individual who can manage your time effectively.

  • An individual whois able towork alone and as part of a team and will strive to achieve delivery commitments.

  • Someone who is confident and willing to partake in champion roles.
