We are looking for an experienced Rigger Chargehand for our Fittershop - Engineering to join our busy fishing operations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising rigging activities and ensuring safe efficient deck operations.
- Reporting to: Fittershop Foreman
- Department: Engineering Workshop
- Location: South Arm Road V&A Waterfront
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Lead and supervise rigging crew
- Assist the Foreman in effectively ensuring that work conditions on the vessel are safe to carry out operations.
- Effectively provide instructions and engage in collaborative efforts with the Crane Operator to facilitate the lifting and placement of the component onto the quay side
- Rig the vessels engine or pumps onto the deck.
- Conduct safety checks and toolbox talks
- Provide workshop members with clear instructions regarding the essential instruments they should bring.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience as a Rigger Chargehand
- 4 5 years rigging experience
- Trade Test Qualification
KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES
- HSE (health safety environmental) knowledge: A strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures including knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards
- Ability to work in high-pressure environment
- Rigging techniques: Proficiency in various rigging techniques including lifting hoisting and securing loads using appropriate tools and equipment.
