Job Description: We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rigger to join our team in Johannesburg South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing rigging operations including lifting moving and securing heavy equipment and materials in a safe and efficient manner. The Rigger will work closely with other team members including crane operators to ensure that all rigging activities are carried out according to company and industry standards. Key Responsibilities: - Perform rigging operations including lifting moving and securing heavy equipment and materials using a variety of rigging equipment and techniques. - Inspect rigging equipment and ensure it is in good working condition before use. - Communicate effectively with other team members including crane operators to ensure safe and efficient rigging operations. - Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. - Read and interpret rigging plans and drawings to determine the best rigging methods for each job. - Ensure that all rigging activities are carried out according to company and industry standards. - Maintain accurate records of rigging operations including equipment used and materials moved. - Regularly inspect and maintain rigging equipment to ensure it is in good working condition. - Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices. - Report any safety hazards or concerns to the supervisor immediately. Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent. - Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Rigger in an industrial setting. - Valid rigging certification and/or license. - Strong knowledge of rigging equipment techniques and safety procedures. - Ability to read and interpret rigging plans and drawings. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. - Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects. - Attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety. - Willingness to work in all weather conditions and at heights. - Valid drivers license preferred.
