A welcoming secondary school in Barnet is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support students with SEMH needs. This is a full-time long-term role ideal for someone with experience supporting students who require emotional and behavioural support in an educational setting.
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant you will:
- Work 1:1 with students to support her academic engagement wellbeing and confidence
- Provide consistent emotional support and help manage any SEMH-related challenges
- Build a positive trusting relationship that encourages progress and independence
- Collaborate closely with teachers the SENCO and pastoral staff to deliver tailored interventions
1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant:
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting students with SEMH anxiety or behavioural needs
- Demonstrates empathy patience and excellent communication skills
- Can maintain calm and consistency in challenging situations
- Is proactive and adaptable with a genuine desire to make a difference in a young persons life
- Ideally holds relevant experience in a school youth work or mental health setting
