Under the direction of the Managerand Supervisorin collaboration withCoordinator of Safe Patient Handlingensures patients are appropriately mobilized byassistingstaff with ambulation transfers and repositioning patients.Promotes employee and patient safety and mobility byassistingmodelingand educatingteam memberson theappropriate methodand manner of patient positioning and ambulation using proper lift equipment and technique.

• Contributes toward accomplishment ofpatientsplan ofcaregoals by providingmobilityactivities as assigned by the nurse.
• Assistspatientsand their familiesin learningto safely manage personal care while increasing activity strength and endurance.
• Effectively works with the patient and theirinterdisciplinary careteam reinforcingand promotingtherapy/mobilityinitiatives.
• Effectively communicates changes in patient condition and functional ability to support an expedited change in the patients plan of care and prevention of more serious complications.
• Demonstrates the knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concernsimmediately.
• Utilizesa holistic approach(considering physical psych/social spiritual educational safety and related criteria)appropriate tothe age of the patients served in the assigned service area.

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
• Mustpossessand maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3)months from dateof hire.
• MOAB (will be obtained during training)
