The Benefits team is an important subset of the HR team and is responsible for creating and delivering best in class innovative benefits and experiences for a rapidly growing employee population both in and out of the US.

About the role

Were hiring a U.S. Benefits Analyst to help ensure our benefits programs are accurate reliable and easy for employees to navigate as OpenAI scales.

In this role youll work at the intersection of systems data and employee experience. Youll own core U.S. benefits operationsauditing data reviewing vendor billing and responding directly to employee questionswhile partnering closely with cross-functional teams.

This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in operational rigor ownership and clear empathetic employee support. Youll report to the U.S. Benefits Manager and play a key role in maintaining a strong reliable benefits foundation as the company grows.

Your Responsibilities:

• Audit and maintain accurate U.S. benefits data across Workday and vendor systems.

• Review and reconcile benefits vendor invoices; investigate and resolve discrepancies.

• Serve as a front-line resource for employee benefits questions providing clear and empathetic guidance.

• Maintain benefits elections eligibility and configurations in Workday.

• Partner with Payroll Finance HR Systems and vendors to resolve issues and improve processes.

• Support key benefits projects such as open enrollment audits ongoing operational reviews and compliance.

• Identify recurring issues and help improve how benefits are administered at scale.

Were Seeking:

• 23 years of experience in benefits administration HR operations or a related role.

• Experience supporting U.S. health and welfare benefits and/or retirement plans (e.g. 401(k)).

• Hands-on experience with Workday including transactions configuration and audits.

• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with data and reconciliations.

• Clear written communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced evolving environment.

Workplace & Location

This role is based in our San Francisco office and we arent considering remote applications at this time. We do encourage you to apply even if you prefer a fully remote role as location factors may change over time.

We offer relocation support to new employees and we use a hybrid model: three days in the office per week with optional work from home on Thursdays and Fridays.
