Your new role

We are seeking two fulltime permanent Educational Psychologists to join our team. This role is offered on a hybrid working basis blend of working from home and office.

As part of Southends Education Inclusion and Early Years Directorate you will play a key role in delivering an integrated service that champions inclusive practice for all children and young people. You will also contribute to the promotion of positive mental health and wellbeing across our community. We are particularly interested in applicants with a passion for youth justice post16 development or social care partnership work as these areas will shape future service development projects.

The role involves undertaking statutory assessments and implementing preventative strategies. This includes delivering a range of psychological assessments providing training to key adults facilitating group work and working collaboratively within multiagency networks. Through these approaches you will help children and young people to achieve strong academic progress and meaningful social developmentsupporting them to reach their full potential.

By offering highquality advice support guidance and training to children and young people their families and educational settings you will help us to maximise educational attainment promote personal growth and ensure our most vulnerable learners are supported to live their best lives.

What youll need to succeed

Candidates must hold a professional post graduate qualification in Educational Psychology or equivalent recognised by the British Psychological Society and active registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Eligibility for Chartered Status and Associate Fellowship of the BPS. This role requires an enhanced DBS check.

The council would welcome applications from trainee Educational Psychologists who are in their final year of training.

Competitive salary plus up to 3 SPA points. Previously awarded SPA points will be honoured.
