Job Summary:
The Proposal Writer (Associate or Senior Associate) role focuses on designing high-impact programs developing competitive proposals and leading and strengthening fundraising strategies and developing strategic partnerships.
Primary Functions & Responsibilities:
Specific tasks would include (but not limited to):
â Design innovative programs on value chains in agriculture and entrepreneurship and allied industries that help
to improve farmer incomes sustainable sourcing and high impact programs.
â Write winning proposals: Work with project staff and regional leadership to design write and submit clear
concise and compelling proposals that result in funding for the organization.
â Develop concept notes and pitch documents that garner donor interest and lay the foundation for long-term
partnerships.
â Guide the proposal development process: develop and manage proposal calendars; facilitate kick-off and
review meetings and develop the proposal outline with compliance guidelines.
â Support all aspects of proposal development including coordinating complex efforts with dispersed proposal team members drafting and updating organizational qualifications statements editing and formatting technical proposals drafting staffing and management sections and supporting recon and capture efforts.
â Ensure the adoption of best practices and initiate quality assurance systems.
â Coordinate with TechnoServes Global Program Development and Strategic Initiatives teams to share intel and best practices contribute to global initiatives and collaborate on proposals.
â Contribute to improved efficiency and effectiveness of PD operations through knowledge management including updating and expanding PD resources tools and processes.
â Actively cultivate new prospects: create and strengthen relationships with public and private donors
â Liaise with public sector funding agencies institutional foundations corporations and other private donors.
â Review and support the development of the budget
Basic Qualifications:
Required Languages: Excellent oral written and interpersonal skills including fluency in English language.
Travel: Travel up to 20 %
Preferred Qualifications:
â Graduate or postgraduate in Development Economics Social Impact and similar academics from International or premier institutions
â Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in a consulting or development sector with a keenness to work on poverty related challenges facing agriculture in India.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
â Excellent analytical and communication skills (written and oral) and an ability to build a convincing argument
â Ability to understand and work on business models high quality pitch decks
â Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse team spread across diverse geographies and to deliver in a time bound program
