Job Title: Process Technician II
Location: Corning NY
Duration: 12 Months
Job Type: Contract
Maximum Submissions per Supplier: 3
Note: Candidates: Preference is for local candidates but willing to look at other candidates willing to relocate on their own. Interview Process: Initial Teams Interview. If candidate is local an onsite interview may be requested. Generally 40 hrs. per week Mon-Fri but must be flexible. Overtime on-call and weekend work may be required at times to support test schedules. Required Education & Experience . Travel Requirements: Minimal - domestic and/or international travel may occasionally be required but would be the exception. - Knowledge of laboratory safety systems related to equipment and material handling
- Ability to prepare technical reports and compile analytical data
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with analytical chemistry techniques (quantitative or semi-quantitative)
- Experience supporting testing research or manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with materials such as ceramics metals polymers or glass
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Prepare samples including cutting mounting epoxying grinding and polishing
- Analyze and image samples using optical microscopy methods
- Perform imaging and chemical analysis using SEM and EDX
- Compile data and prepare reports for Geologists and Engineering teams
- Support laboratory operations equipment maintenance and supplies
Requirements:
- AAS in Engineering Technology or a related scientific field
- 2 years of experience in a technician or similar role
- Experience operating electron microscopes microprobes or analytical chemistry equipment
- Ability to follow established procedures and work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
