Position Overview

The Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) Division of Benefits and Medical Eligibility (DBME) is seeking a Customer Service Representative 2 to support the Douglas AZ office. This role involves providing high quality customer service to the public resolving inquiries and ensuring accurate and timely processing of customer interactions.

This is an entry level position ideal for individuals who enjoy helping others working in a fast paced environment and maintaining a high level of professionalism and accuracy.

Responsibilities
  • Assist customers in person or by telephone regarding services program eligibility licenses registrations titles permits and general inquiries.
  • Enter customer information process orders update accounts and document interactions in agency systems.
  • Review and verify information ensuring appropriate actions and updates are completed to resolve customer issues.
  • Address and resolve service-related or billing complaints including issuing refunds adjusting accounts or redirecting concerns to appropriate departments.
  • Maintain accurate records of all customer inquiries complaints comments and resolutions.
  • Prepare and process forms such as change of address requests service discontinuation orders and other documents.
  • Contact customers to follow up on inquiries investigations or service adjustments.
  • Perform cash-handling duties such as adding money receipts reconciling totals and preparing deposits for transmittal to the bank or state treasurer.
  • Use judgment and discretion when releasing information or handling sensitive customer situations.
  • Conduct research and analyze policies or procedures to resolve complex customer concerns.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum education requirement).
  • Ability to follow established guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong customer service skills including the ability to resolve difficult complaints or service issues.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn agency systems.
  • Cash-handling accuracy and reliability.
Preferred Skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred due to the customer needs of the Douglas AZ community.
Additional Requirements
  • Background Check & Drug Screening: Must be completed through HireRight.
  • Local Candidates Only:

  • Security Clearance: Required per state standards.
