Early 2026 Opening Founding Team Opportunity
A newly developed state-of-the-art community hospital in Farmington New Mexico is seeking Board Certified / Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physicians to join the founding Emergency Department team ahead of its early 2026 opening.
This is a rare opportunity to help build and shape an Emergency Department from day one in a modern facility with strong leadership support advanced resources efficient workflows and a patient-first care model.
Position Highlights
- Brand new Emergency & Trauma Department modern design new equipment efficient workflows
- 10 ED beds dedicated triage room and trauma bay
- 24/7 Emergency Services with inpatient capability
- Founding team opportunity help shape culture workflows and clinical standards
- Advanced surgical suite for outpatient procedures
- Strong clinical support and operational resources
- Stable long-term opportunity with growth potential
Compensation & Structure
- $300 $350 per hour
- 1099 independent contractor structure
- Malpractice coverage with tail provided
- Relocation assistance (if applicable)
Schedule & Coverage Model
- 24-hour shifts to start transitioning to 12-hour shifts as census builds
- Flexible scheduling
- MD-only coverage initially
- APP coverage to be added as volume increases with typical hours 10:00 AM 10:00 PM
- No call
- Balanced mix of days and nights
Emergency Department Profile
- 10 ED beds triage room trauma bay
- Projected volume: 20 30 patients per day initially ramping to 50 60 patients per day within weeks of opening
- Mixed-acuity community Emergency Department
- Efficient throughput model designed for patient flow and provider satisfaction
Facility & Clinical Resources
The new hospital will include:
- Full-service Emergency & Trauma Department
- Private spacious inpatient rooms
- On-site radiology and clinical laboratory
- On-site pharmacy services
- Advanced surgical suite for outpatient procedures
- Transfer agreements with tertiary centers
- Dedicated nursing and clinical support staff

- EMR: EPOWERdoc
- Fully integrated imaging and diagnostic systems
Candidate Profile
- ABEM / AOBEM Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Open to experienced physicians and strong new graduates
- Comfortable with 24-hour shift model during start-up phase
- Team-oriented patient-focused and adaptable
- Interested in being part of a founding team and helping shape a new department
