Job Summary

ON-CALL HOSPICE RN

Location: Fairfax VA

Pay: $45/hr (depending on experience)

Shifts: Fridays Saturdays and Sundays from 5pm to 8:00am

Our Hospice team in Northern Virginia is looking for a PRN On-Call Evening/Night Nurses to provide end of life care to patients in Fairfax Loudoun Prince William City of Alexandria and City of Arlington. Must be available to work as needed Fridays Saturdays and Sundays from 5pm to 8:00am.

Responsibilities:

Provide routine emergency care visits to patients as assigned and triaged by on call service
Make phone calls to assigned patients to triage symptoms
Provides follow up phone calls to assess efficacy of recommended treatments
Carries out full admissions when needed
Provide visits to confirm absence of vital signs unless families decline visits

Qualifications:

An active State of Virginia RN license and a minimum of 3 years of acute care and/or hospice experience.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide meaningful care to communicate with the terminally ill.
Excellent communication and customer service skills and attention to detail.
Proficient Microsoft Office 365 and EMR systems skills. Experience with Homecare Homebase preferred.
A valid drivers license and reliable independent transportation to provide care to hospice patients in the Northern Virginia areas.
