General Job Description

Dogwood Industries is seeking a Receiving Material Handler to join our team. The core mission of the Receiving Material Handler is to facilitate the efficient and accurate receipt and storage of the materials used in the manufacturing processes. The Receiving Material Handler is an integral part of the production team and is required to have comprehensive knowledge about the material and understand the manufacturing workflow.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain a calendar of incoming materials and develop plans for the off-loading of materials
  • Responsible for material inspections
  • Attach identification labels or barcodes to items
  • Review purchase orders and inter-facility transactions
  • Ensure proper documentation of materials is complete including POs BOLs etc.
  • Update and maintain ERP system
  • Complete receiving reports accurately
  • Accurately follow material control procedures
  • Effectively communicate with procurement staff supervisors and relevant production staff regarding material deliveries
  • Responsible for material inventory and material storage
  • Assist in resolving delivery discrepancies with suppliers
  • Meet critical deadlines and schedules
  • Follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
  • Perform general site clean-up and preparation tasks
  • Move materials safely and effectively through the factory with the required equipment including unloading incoming deliveries from truck/containers.
Requirements

Requirements

  • High school diploma general education degree or vocational degree
  • 2 years of experience operating a forklift
  • Previous construction warehouse or manufacturing experience
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to track retain and integrate information
  • Ability to confidently interface with all levels of company organization
  • Fluent in the use of Word Excel Outlook and Adobe
  • Excellent written communications using correct grammar and spelling


Qualifications

  • Previous shipping and/or receiving experience is a plus


Physical Requirements/Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body able to reach overhead able to work in various positions including but not limited to stooping standing bending over sitting kneeling squatting; use hands to handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. Be able to lift pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 50 pounds. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise dust fumes and odors. This position requires physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities in a primarily production environment. The work environment characteristics here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.


Compensation

$25.00 - $32.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
