ICF is hiring 2026Summer Interns to help grow our North American and global energy consulting business. Interns contribute to the development of innovative analytical high quality and commercially relevant products and services typically working on multiple projects with all levels of staff.
Our Interns are given opportunities to work on assignments that foster growth and allow them to develop solutions within the renewable energy sector. Through client engagements colleague and peer interactions and specialized training ICF Interns develop subject matterexpertiseand project management skills.
This is a full-time 10-week internship that will begin in early June 2026. This is afully remoteinternship from any U.S. location.At this time relocation assistance is not available.Pay is expected to be $23/hour for undergraduate interns and $28/hour for graduate interns.
General Responsibilities
Develop and review project documentation.
Perform energy modeling and/or technical reviews for solar wind renewable fuels and/orbatteryenergy storage systems projects.
Research technologydevelopmentand manufacturing trends.
Work with the carbon intensity team and help develop training tools.
Read interpret and critique project/system design drawings.
Apply technical background to evaluatenew technologies.
Document reviews and analyses with sufficient technical depth but still accessible to non-technical clients.
Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of 30 completed college level credit hoursin Engineering (Chemical Electrical Mechanical or Renewable Energy engineering) Computer Sciences or relatedfield.
Preferred Qualifications
A completed bachelors degree plus enrollment verification in a Masters degree programin Engineering (Chemical Electrical Mechanical or Renewable Energy engineering) Computer Sciences or related field.
Strong interest in the renewable energy industry.
Knowledge of PVsyst for candidates interested in solar engineering.
Working knowledge of MS Word Excel VBAPythonand/or project management related tools
Experience in developing and managing documentation and data analysis.
Ability to read andcomprehendproject engineering drawings and documentation.
Strong intellectual curiosity ability to solve complex problems andenthusiasm to learn beyond what isfor daily tasks; a willingness to dive into new topics
Capability to extracttends extrapolate and understand information from a set of data.
Technical research skills and ability to work with and understandtechnical concepts while also being able to communicate them to variedaudiences.
Excellent written and oralcommunicationsskills.
Ability to work under deadlines in afast-paced environment and a capability to prioritize tasks; strong time management analytical andinter-personalskills.
