KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Manager Works Operations the Superintendent Roads & Sidewalks is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the Roads & Sidewalks and Mechanics Divisions. This includes scheduling jobs allocating materials and equipment and coordinating and supervising the activities and performance of the employees and sub-contractors working for the respective divisions. The incumbent enforces safety regulations policies and procedures and initiates safe practices.


QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field along with a minimum of 6 years experience in civil engineering and/or a related field and a minimum of 4 years progressive experience supervising or managing staff. The incumbent is required to be a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET); however educational equivalencies and/or experience may be considered.


SALARY

The City of Yellowknife offers a starting salary of $154912 per annum along with a comprehensive benefits package including a monthly housing and travel allowance totalling $450 per month a defined benefit pension plan and relocation assistance.
