Position Description:
The Project and Camera Support Specialist is responsible for the daily support maintenance and troubleshooting of Jefferson Parish Schools district-wide camera infrastructure. This role provides hands-on technical support to ensure secure reliable and fully functional camera operations across all facilities. The Specialist assists in maintaining system performance resolving outages and supporting the installation and upkeep of servers switches cameras viewing stations and related infrastructure. The position also plays a critical role in executing camera-related projects coordinating with the Coordinator of Project and Camera Support vendors and other departments to meet district standards and addition the Specialist provides technical assistance to law enforcement partners including Jefferson
Parish Sheriffs Office Gretna Police Department and Kenner Police Department to maintain seamless connectivity for emergency response. The position may require extended hours or on-call availability to respond to emergencies or other circumstances critical to safety and day-to-day operations.

Scope of Responsibility:
- The Project and Camera Support Specialist works under the direct supervision of the Coordinator of Project and Camera Support and is responsible for providing technical expertise and project support to ensure reliable secure and efficient camera operations across the district.
- Provides daily hands-on support for the district-wide camera infrastructure ensuring reliable operation across all Jefferson Parish Schools facilities.
- Assists in monitoring system performance user accounts and database updates under the direction of the Coordinator.
- Responds to and resolve site-based hardware and software outages including cameras servers viewing stations and power supplies.
- Installs configures and maintains camera systems network cabling switches and supporting equipment.
- Supports the execution and documentation of camera-related projects ensuring work meets district specifications and deadlines.
- Assists in training school- and department-based staff in the proper use of camera systems.
- Serves as a point of contact to help fulfill video requests from Transportation Special Education Human Resources and other departments.
- Collaborates with the Technology Infrastructure team Help Desk and other departments to ensure smooth integration of camera systems into the district network.
- Provides technical support to Jefferson Parish Sheriffs Office Gretna PD and Kenner PD to maintain emergency response connectivity.
- Participates in scheduled maintenance repairs and upgrades to ensure system performance and
- security.
- Supports special projects and events as assigned by the Coordinator of Project and Camera Support.
- Responds to operational needs including extended or on-call work hours as required.
- Responsible for carrying an answer Jefferson Parish Schools issued phone before during and after normal work hours due to emergencies or extenuating circumstances related to safety or operational routine.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Technology.
Skills and Qualification:
We seek detail-oriented independent self-starters who demonstrate an unwavering commitment to raising student achievement and who have a record of high performance in challenging situations. Successful candidates will also demonstrate and/or possess:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional IT or technical support experience. Solid knowledge of camera infrastructure including IP-based camera systems viewing stations servers power supplies and structured cabling.
- Familiarity with video management systems (VMS) storage solutions and user accountadministration for large-scale camera environments.
- Ability to create Statements of Work (SOW) for camera-related installations modifications orremovals in alignment with district standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Visio or similar tools for creating and maintaining project and systemdocumentation.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose troubleshoot and resolve camera connectivity and
- hardware/software issues quickly and effectively.
- Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple ongoing projects and service requests.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to clearly document technical work andcollaborate with colleagues schools vendors and law enforcement agencies.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality service-oriented support for end-users.
- Flexibility to work extended hours on-call and respond to emergencies as needed.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or related field.
- Experience contributing to large-scale security camera or technology infrastructure projects.
- Vendor coordination or project oversight experience in camera/security systems.
- Leviton Certified in Copper and Optical Fiber Communications Cabling Systems.
- Project Management coursework or certifications (CAPM/PMP) preferred.
- Certification or formal training in video management systems (e.g. Avigilon Axis Milestone etc.) is a plus.
Physical Involvement:
Mobility skills necessary to access a variety of work locations and/or areas. Sitting is required most of the day. Standing walking reaching bending and lifting up to forty (40) pounds is sometimes required. A portion of the workday is spent reading computer screens. Ability to provide own transportation to schools work locations and meeting sites.
