Job Summary

SUMMARY

Support the Director of Facilities in the maintenance and upkeep of our district facilities with an emphasis on grounds and general maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Routine maintenance of district facilities to include but not limited to:
- Plowing snow removal and salting of sidewalks for the district.
- Knowledge of general maintenance duties such as plumbing electrical and HVAC.
- Some vehicle work and repair of operations equipment.
- Grounds work as necessary
Perform duties assigned for the district work order system.
The ability to do small engine repair.
Any and all other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor or central office administrator.
Be available for emergency call-ins when necessary. Must have the ability to work varied shifts. Must be able to work independently.
Make recommendations of equipment needed for replacement for the Operations Department.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED required.
Valid Drivers license
CDL class B desired

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees vendors and students.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to complete hourly daily and contractual rates.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral and diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Ability to operate a Personal Computer and related software. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students staff and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
