Elementary Teacher (Long-Term Substitute) We are seeking an enthusiastic committed elementary educator for a 12-week long-term substitute position starting in April 2026. St. Pius X Catholic School Southgate is seeking a long term subbing position for math/science in grades 4 and 5 April - June 2025 DUTIES: Follow lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacher- Provide instruction to students in mathematics and science
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment
- Communicate with school staff and parents as needed
- Complete required paperwork and reports
Requirements:- Bachelors degree in Education or related field
- Valid teaching certification or substitute teaching permit
- Experience working with children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow lesson plans and manage classroom behavior
QUALIFICATIONS: - All teachers in the Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Detroit shall be certified and/or approved for teaching by the Department of Education for the State of Michigan.
- All teachers are required to hold the appropriate endorsement for the subject(s) they are assigned to teach.
- All teachers who are catechists (teachers of religion) must be certified by the Department of Evangelization Catechesis and Schools (or willing to obtain such certifications).
