What you will be doing in this role
As a Registered Nurse in ourPACU (Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit) your role is essential in guiding patients through their recovery after anaesthesia. You will work closely with an experienced and supportive team reporting directly to the Nurse Unit Manager Anaesthetics/ willbe responsible formonitoringvital signs and managing immediate post-surgical concerns such as pain nausea and respiratory issues. Yourexpertisein anaesthesia will be vital in ensuring the safe reversal of anaesthesiamonitoringfor any adverse reactions and collaborating with anaesthetists tooptimizepatient addition to your clinical skills you will provide emotional support and reassurance to patients as they regain consciousness helping to alleviate any anxiety they may experience during this vulnerable time. Your role will also involve regular updates to the anaesthetic and surgical teams escalating concerns when necessary andparticipatingin ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives to stay at the forefront of recovery care.
This role is perfect for someone with2-3 years of PACU experienceand a solid foundation inanaesthetics.Youllhave opportunities to develop further skills in a collaborative patient-centred environment working alongside anaesthetists surgeons and other healthcare professionals.

- Minimum 2 years of experience in a PACU/anaesthetics setting with strong patient care skills and a thorough understanding of post-operative recovery needs.
- At least3years as a Registered Nurse providing high-quality clinical care in a hospital setting.
- Excellent patient assessment skills able to quicklyidentifychanges in condition and respond appropriately.
- Knowledge of anaesthetic methods agents and related equipment.
- Proficient in fluid balance respiratory cardiac and haemodynamic monitoring with the ability to act on deviations.
- Current NSW Nurses Registration and valid Australian working rights.
