As a Sales Engineer at Sendbird youll be at the intersection of technology business strategy and customer engagement. Youll partner closely with our Account Executives to help customers design build and scale their communication and AI agent strategies using Sendbird.
Youre someone who thrives in discovery conversations enjoys problem-solving with both developers and executives and can clearly translate complex technical capabilities into real-world impact.
Youll bring credibility in front of engineers confidence in front of leaders and curiosity in every interaction. Most of all youll help our customers imagine whats possible.
What Youll Do:
- Partner with Sales: Collaborate with Account Executives throughout the deal cyclejoining calls demos and meetings to explore challenges co-design solutions and close deals together.
- Lead Technical Discovery: Engage deeply with engineers product managers and architects to understand their systems goals and pain points. Youll map these into Sendbirds APIs SDKs and AI capabilities.
- Design Tailored Solutions: Create architectural recommendations that fit each customers business needswhether theyre building a chat app deploying an AI support agent or connecting millions of users.
- Deliver Demos that Inspire: Build and present compelling demos that show not just how Sendbird works but what it can do for them.
- Handle Security & Compliance: Be confident articulating Sendbirds security and compliance story (SOC 2 ISO-27001 HIPAA) helping customers build trust from the start.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Product Engineering and Customer Success to ensure a seamless transition from pre-sales to post-launch.
- Stay Curious: Keep up with the latest trends in AI agents communication tech and developer toolsbringing fresh insights to every customer conversation.
What You Bring:
- 3 years in Sales Engineering or Solutions Architecture ideally within a developer-focused or platform-based SaaS company.
- Solid understanding of APIs SDKs and integration workflowsyou know how modern apps are built and scaled.
- Experience with at least one development environment (e.g. JavaScript/React iOS/Swift Android/Kotlin Unity React Native Flutter).
- Awareness of Generative AI trends and a curiosity to experiment and learn.
- Excellent communication skillsyou can simplify the technical for non-technical audiences and vice versa.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to balance multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Comfort in front of customers from hands-on developers to executive decision-makers.
- English speaker with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bonus: fluency in an additional European language (French German Spanish).

Pay Transparency
For cash compensation we set standard ranges for all roles based on function level and geographic location. To determine our ranges we utilize a variety of compensation data benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this role is $200000.00 - $235000.00. This range is specific to the San Francisco Bay market. We consider several factors when making final compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets experience and training licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs which may cause your specific offer to vary from the amount listed above.
Flexible Work Policy
We offer a flexible work schedule at Sendbird. We also value collaboration and relationship building. With those values in mind we require all employees within an hours commute range of their local office to gather with their team in the office three days per week as a minimum. Some of our roles require a more frequent in-office schedule. Please work with your manager to understand the office time requirements for your position.
