We are a specialized globally distributed IT team of six members: four based in Europe one in Australia and one in the Americas. Together we deliver operate and continuously improve TOMRAs service delivery platform infrastructure. Our mission is to provide stable secure and scalable platforms that enable smooth and reliable IT operations.
About the Role
As an IT Systems Engineer Platform & Cloud Infrastructure you will play a key role in ensuring TOMRAs IT systems are reliable secure and high-performing both on-premises and in the cloud. You will be part of our global IT Service Delivery team collaborating closely with IT Service Design and contributing to the successful transition of projects into operations.
The role is based at TOMRAs global headquarters in Asker Norway. Occasional travel to other TOMRA locations should be expected.
Your Responsibilities
- Design implement and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions (primarily Azure) and hybrid environments.
- Contribute to the implementation of server storage and backup solutions ensuring scalability and security.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or ARM templates.
- Support the transition of new systems into operations including testing documentation and change processes.
- Provide 3rd-level support for complex infrastructure topics including maintenance and upgrades.
- Assist with incident management performance monitoring and disaster recovery.
- Collaborate on cloud security best practices compliance and cost optimization.
Qualifications :
- Proven experience as a System Engineer Cloud Engineer or similar role.
- Deep knowledge of server storage and backup systems as well as virtualization technologies (VMware Hyper-V).
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and hybrid architectures.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform ARM templates) and CI/CD pipelines for cloud deployments.
- Strong understanding of network protocols system performance monitoring and cloud security principles.
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global team.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. Azure Administrator Azure Solutions Architect CompTIA Network ITIL) are a plus.
- Fluent English skills (minimum B2 level).
Preferred Cloud Engineering Skills
- Containerization and Orchestration: Docker Kubernetes.
- Cloud-native Services: Azure Functions AWS Lambda or similar.
- DevOps Practices: CI/CD pipelines GitHub Actions Azure DevOps.
- Monitoring and Observability: Prometheus Grafana Azure Monitor.
- Cloud Security and Compliance: Identity and Access Management encryption regulatory frameworks.
- Cost Optimization Strategies for cloud environments.
- Automation and Scripting: PowerShell Python for cloud operations.
