As a Senior Software Engineer Cloud Platform you will play a pivotal role in building and evolving Guidewires industry-leading cloud platform. Youll leverage your expertise in cloud-native development microservices and automation to deliver high-impact solutions that drive measurable value for our customers. Job Description

What youll do

• Design build and maintain highly available distributed cloud platform services using Kubernetes and AWS as the backbone.

• Develop microservices automation tools and infrastructure-as-code to support the full lifecycle of Guidewires SaaS applications.

• Engineer for quality scalability security and operational excellence embedding automated testing and observability into everything you deliver.

• Collaborate daily with engineers product managers and architects through pair programming and agile ceremonies to deliver impactful solutions.

• Drive adoption of best practices in REST/gRPC APIs service discovery and cloud-native architectures.

• Champion cost optimization security and compliance in multi-tenant environments supporting Guidewires mission to deliver measurable value and efficiency for customers.

• Mentor peers share knowledge and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and responsible AI use.

What youll bring

• Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation productivity and continuous improvement.

• Minimum 10 years of relevant software engineering experience with a strong background in cloud platforms (AWS Kubernetes Docker).

• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java Golang or equivalent).

• Deep understanding of microservices architecture REST/gRPC APIs service discovery and API gateways.

• Strong Linux debugging skills and experience with container technologies.

• Commitment to proven software design principles (e.g. SOLID Hexagonal) and automated testing.

• Excellent collaboration communication and mentoring skills; a team-first mindset.

• Experience with distributed tracing monitoring and observability in cloud environments.

Preferred

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) serverless architectures and multi-tenant SaaS platforms.

• Familiarity with cost optimization security and compliance in cloud environments.

• Experience working in agile fast-paced and highly collaborative teams.

• GWCP/ATMOS & observability: You will be deeply involved in design and development of GWCP/ATMOS as infrastructure-as-code using technologies such as EKS (Kubernetes) Terraform and Golang. You will also handle observability of the platform (logs metrics and traces). Learn more:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $148000 - $222000 . Your base pay will depend on your experience skills education training and location among other factors. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health dental and vision insurance paid time off and a company sponsored retirement addition some roles may be eligible for the annual company bonus plan commissions and/or long term incentive awards which are contingent on a variety of factors including but not limited to company and employee performance.
