This role is for a Structures Design Staff Engineer on the Defense Integrated Manufacturing Engineering Production Engineering team. The Production Engineering team is aligned by engine component commodity / value stream and dedicated to improving production hardware flow across all Defense Engines products. The teams primary focus is to improve robustness and efficiency of the technical disposition of non-conforming material impacting production engines and spares parts flow. Additionally the team will partner collaboratively with the manufacturing operations and product quality functions with a continuous improvement mindset.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute the design analysis or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards practices procedures and product / program requirements.
  • This work would include mechanical design engineering for combustors and structural components.
  • Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management manufacturing technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors or advanced degree in engineering from an accredited college or university
  • At least 5 years of experience in an aerospace or mechanical engineering position.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening.

The base pay range for this position is 155000 - 175000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on Friday January 23rd 2026.
