Job Summary
Job Title: Locum Nurse Practitioner - Cardiothoracic Surgery
Summary:
Join a dynamic team at a leading medical center in Tacoma Washington specializing in Cardiothoracic Surgery. This facility is seeking two advanced practice providers to assist with comprehensive patient care. Experience a fast-paced environment dedicated to surgical excellence and patient outcomes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with pre and post-operative patient evaluations and treatment plans.
- First assist in the operating room for various surgical procedures.
- Perform coronary artery bypass and valve surgeries including aortic reconstructions.
- Conduct robotic-assisted thoracic surgeries and minimally invasive procedures.
- Manage ICU and step-down patients effectively.
- Handle emergent procedures including chest tube and arterial line insertions.
- Perform daily rounds and prepare discharge summaries.
- Participate in call rotations including weekend and night shifts.
- Conduct walk-in/urgent clinic visits when necessary.
- Work collaboratively with 5 permanent surgeons and support staff.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified Nurse Practitioner in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- State License in Washington (highly preferred); IMLC accepted.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Cardiothoracic or Cardiovascular Surgery.
- Current certifications in ACLS BLS and DEA.
- Clean malpractice record.
- A Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Active Washington State Nurse Practitioner license.
- Board Certification in the relevant specialty.
- ACLS and BLS certifications.
- DEA registration.
