Job Summary
TOOLMAKER / FITTER (PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT) Germiston Market Related
We are seeking a skilled Senior Toolmaker in the Heavy Steel Manufacturing Industry to support new product development prototyping and tooling innovation within a steel manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for an experienced artisan with strong problem-solving ability and a continuous improvement mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture and assemble prototype components for new product designs
- Design modify and maintain press tools cutting tools dies jigs fixtures gauges and templates
- Support product development trials and testing
- Interpret engineering drawings CAD designs and technical specifications
- Identify tooling and process inefficiencies and support Lean/Kaizen initiatives
- Perform preventive maintenance repairs and calibration of tooling
- Ensure compliance with ISO SANS and OHSA requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Trade Tested Toolmaker or Fitter & Turner
- 35 years experience in steel manufacturing or heavy industry
- CNC and conventional machining experience
- Ability to read CAD drawings and technical documentation
- Knowledge of steel grades forming cutting and heat treatment processes
