The role
Step into a role where youll lead heritage and culture programs that protect activate and celebrate the unique landscapes buildings and stories of Sydneys parklands. Youll design and deliver projects provide expert advice and work hands-on with diverse teams and communities to ensure our heritage assets are managed with care and creativity. Every day youll collaborate communicate and find practical solutionsbalancing priorities and navigating complex stakeholder interests to achieve positive outcomes.

Youll thrive in a dynamic environment managing relationships across a wide range of groups analyzing complex issues and negotiating the conservation and adaptive reuse of heritage assets. Your ability to communicate coordinate and drive projects forward will be key as you help shape the future of our parklands.

What you will bring to the role:

  • A bachelors or masters degree in heritage architecture archaeology landscape architecture or a closely related field.
  • Deep hands-on experience in researching managing conserving and finding new uses for significant cultural landscapes buildings and structures.
  • Senior-level expertise in providing practical heritage advice to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • A strong track record of delivering expert advice and real-world solutions for the ongoing care and activation of heritage assets.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills able to work with everyone from agency staff and community groups to government bodies and Aboriginal custodians ensuring all voices are heard and best practices are followed.
  • Solid project management skills with the ability to implement frameworks and drive heritage and culture projects from start to finish for positive outcomes.
  • Comfort with change flexibility and a proactive approach to evolving priorities and challenges.


What is an essential requirement:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Heritage Architecture Archaeology Landscape Architecture or related discipline.
  • Current Driver licence and ability to travel to and attend work at any site within the GSP portfolio.
  • Ability to be contacted and work outside of normal bandwidth hours and on weekends where reasonable on urgent matters and as required at engagement and consultation meetings.
