Senior Lab Manager

Lighthouse Lab Services is partnering with a respected healthcare organization in East Tennessee to identify an experienced Senior Laboratory Manager. This individual will provide strategic operational and technical leadership for a high-complexity laboratory ensuring regulatory compliance operational efficiency and exceptional quality standards.

This is a hands-on leadership addition to managing personnel and laboratory operations the Senior Lab Manager is expected to perform bench work as needed particularly during staffing shortages employee absences or periods of increased workload.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and direction for daily laboratory operations

• Ensure compliance with CLIA CAP COLA OSHA and other applicable regulatory and accreditation standards

• Oversee staffing scheduling training competency assessments and performance management

• Maintain and enforce quality assurance quality control and safety programs

• Manage laboratory budgets supplies equipment and vendor relationships

• Develop and implement policies procedures and process improvements

• Monitor workflow and turnaround times to ensure efficiency and accuracy

• Serve as a technical and clinical resource for laboratory staff

• Perform bench testing and technical duties when necessary to maintain service levels

• Collaborate with organizational leadership clinicians and external partners

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field

• Current and active Medical Laboratory Supervisor (General) license issued by the State of Tennessee (required)

• National certification (ASCP AMT or equivalent)

• Minimum of 57 years of clinical laboratory experience including progressive leadership or management responsibility

• Strong working knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements

• Demonstrated ability to lead teams manage change and drive operational excellence

• Willingness and ability to perform bench work as operational needs require
