The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is seeking a technically proficient seasoned and entrepreneurial leader to serve as the Chief Program Officer (at the rank of Administrative Assistant I) for the newly established Web3 Institute (Ref.: 534204) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance).
The Web3 Institute is a newly established umbrella organization at HKU designed to host a diverse array of Centers and Labs focusing on relevant vertical areas within the decentralized web ecosystem. As a premier hub for research and innovation the Institute aims to bridge academic excellence with industry application. Our mission is to serve as an intellectual and educational powerhouse that nurtures top-tier talents and shapes the policy landscape while simultaneously identifying and incubating high-potential projects into transformative entrepreneurial ventures for HKU.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Institutes Co-Directors the ideal candidate will serve as a founding executive team member capable of bridging the gap between technical innovation policy discourse and strategic execution. You will act as the primary liaison between the Co-Directors various project teams and academic units of the University overseeing a portfolio of initiatives without necessarily being hands-on in daily development.
You will be expected to position the Institute as a major voice in the global Web3 conversation drive initiatives that educate and empower the next generation of talents and rigorously manage the incubation of research into successful startups. This role requires a deep understanding of the Web3 ecosystem the regulatory environment and the entrepreneurial mindset necessary to drive impact.

What We Offer
