$10000 Sign-On Bonus for eligible new part-time or full-time employees joining UW MedicineHarborview Medical Center Neuro Critical Care has an outstanding opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C).WORK SCHEDULE90% FTE Nights ShiftSome Days Weekends and HolidaysNo HIGHLIGHTSThe APP will work under the supervision of the NCCS attending staff that includes Anesthesia Neurology and Pulmonary/Critical Care Physicians. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONNeuro Critical Care at Harborview Medical Center takes care of a patient population that includes Subarachnoid Hemorrhage Intracranial Hemorrhage Acute Ischemic Stroke Seizure and Status Epilepticus Isolated Traumatic Brain Injuries Neuromuscular disorders Brain Tumors CNS infections hypoxemic-ischemic encephalopathy Spinal Cord Injury and post-operative spine patientsPRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESPerform patient care to include admitting new patients participating in daily patient rounds daily care evaluation and management of ICU patients writing daily progress notes and formulating/implementing plansCollaborate with acute care services (ortho spine neurosurgery and neurology services) to daily sign out patients leaving the unitUse ICU Checklist on morning rounds to complete the daily checklist for each patient to ensure proper care and communication with nursing staffFacilitate family meetings and participate in goal of care discussions as appropriatePerform procedures including Central Venous Catheters Arterial Lines Bronchoscopy Lumbar Punctures Point of Care Ultrasound Quality Improvement and Research including QI meetings and ongoing QI projectsREQUIREMENTSIf ARNP: Masters or Doctorate degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing AND Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License with prescriptive privileges AND national certification as an Acute Care Nurse PractitionerIf PA-C: Licensure as a Physicians Assistant in the State of WashingtonABOUT HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTERAs the regions only Level I Trauma and verified burn center Harborview Medical Center is a comprehensive healthcare facility owned by King County and operated by UW Medicine.
