Data Manager High Achieving Secondary School Reading

Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract: Full-time Permanent
Salary: Paid to scale

A well-established and high-performing secondary school in Reading Berkshire is seeking to appoint an experienced and detail-oriented Data Manager to lead the management analysis and reporting of student data across the school. Key Responsibilities

Lead the management and maintenance of the schools Management Information System (MIS)
Ensure the accuracy integrity and security of all student data
Produce regular data reports for senior leadership governors and teaching staff
Support the analysis of student attainment and progress data
Manage the school census and statutory data returns
Provide training and support to staff on the use of data systems
Develop systems to track student progress and attainment
Support the organisation and management of examination data
Work closely with senior leaders to support data-driven school improvement strategies
Ensure compliance with data protection and GDPR regulations
Maintain assessment tracking systems for departments
Develop efficient processes for data collection and reporting

Requirements

Experience managing school data systems or working in a similar data management role
Strong knowledge of school MIS systems (such as SIMS Arbor or Bromcom)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Advanced skills in Excel and data analysis tools
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to communicate complex data clearly to non-specialists
Understanding of school assessment and examination processes
Commitment to maintaining data security and confidentiality
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
