A prestigious independent school in Essex is recruiting a Lead Caretaker. This role requires a candidate who is not only skilled in maintenance but also possesses strong organisational abilities. You will play a key role in the stewardship of a historic and well-invested school site ensuring it meets the expectations of a high-profile educational setting.
Core Responsibilities
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Developing and executing a schedule of maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and building degradation.
Contractor Liaison: Obtaining quotes and supervising external specialists (e.g. lift engineers electricians) to ensure high-quality workmanship.
Health & Safety Leadership: Maintaining the schools risk registers and ensuring all premises-related documentation is audit-ready.
Requirements & Compensation
Essential: Significant experience in a caretaking or premises management role preferably within an educational or heritage setting.
