About the Opportunity
We are a recruiting firm that partners with more than50logisticsand transportation companiesacross the U.S. One of our established clients is seeking aVice President of Truckload Operationsto lead and grow its truckload brokerage division.
This is a senior in-office leadership role designed for an experienced truckload brokerage professional who can step in as a leader on day one manage an existing team and drive operational performance and growth. This is not a sales role and does not include traditional commissions.
Role Overview
The Vice President of Truckload Operations will own the day-to-day leadership of the truckload brokerage division. This individual willbe responsible formanaging people improving execution supporting revenue growth through operational excellence and building a strong collaborativeteamculture.
Core Responsibilities
Lead and oversee daily truckload brokerage operations ensuring service quality margin performance and scalability
Manage coach and develop a team ofapproximately 5to 10 operations professionals
Drive division growth through improved efficiency carrier strategy and process optimization
Partner closely with sales leadership to support customer needs and account growth
Oversee carrier relationships pricing strategy and capacity coverage across truckload lanes
Success Metrics
Growth in truckload division revenue and profitability
Improvement in gross margin and operational efficiency
Team performance engagement and retention
Carrier coverage reliability and service execution
Reduction in escalations and operational issues
Qualifications
Mandatory
5 years of experience in truckload brokerage operations
Proven leadership experience managing teams of 510 people
Strong background in full truckload brokerage environments
College degreerequired
Ability to work in-office in Chicagoland or Tampa FL
Strong communicationand people management skills
Preferred
Experience in senior operations leadership roles
Prior exposure to Landstar or independent agent models
Experience scaling or rebuilding brokerage operations
Strong carrier network and market knowledge
