Position Overview
We are a small family-owned and operated commercial construction and property management company located in Golden Colorado. We are looking for an experienced qualified Senior Accountant reporting to the companys Controller. An ideal candidate for this role should be savvy in Excel have excellent organizational analytical interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain a team-oriented environment.
Job Responsibilities
General Accounting
Maintain financial reports records and general ledger accounts.
Preparing journal entries analyses and account reconciliations.
Assist with month-end quarter-end and year-end closing.
Assist with monthly general ledger and sub-ledger account reconciliations.
Assist with weekly cash reports to management.
Reconcile bank statements for 70 bank accounts.
Assist with monthly intercompany account reconciliations for 35 companies.
Assist with 1099 tax filings.
Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
Assist with other accounting and ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Payroll
Enter data into payroll system.
Ensure bi-weekly payrolls are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
Book payroll entries into accounting system after each run.
Act as liaison between employees and Oasis (A Paychex Company) to process all garnishments income withholding orders support orders etc.
Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files.
Educational/Other Requirements
Bachelors degree in accounting or finance.
3 years of senior level accounting experience.
Proficient in Excel Outlook and Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains accounting software experience a strong plus but will train the right candidate.
Experience working with an outsourced payroll provider a plus.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Good problem-solving and time management skills.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Must be a self-starter and function well with minimal supervision.
