We are partnered with a global Owner Operator & Development firm currently holding over $60Billion in Real Estate assets throughout the United States. Their in-house construction division has been established for the past 14 years building in excess of $20Billion across Commercial Retail Hospitality Affordable and High-end Residential Senior Living and large-scale Interior Fit-outs including numerous High-rise Hotels and Restaurants.
Self-performing across Structural Steels this powerhouse constructor is looking for a Senior Estimator to join its Interiors division out of their Headquarters here in New York NY.
Your new role
As a Senior Estimator within the Interiors Division you will join a collaborative team focused on delivering across their own development opportunities but also competitively bidding for interior fit-out and renovation projects across the city. These construction projects consist of some of the highest regarded brand names in the industry looking to make a statement within the NYC market - you will gain exposure to delivering across very high-end trade packages in addition to select exposure to larger ground-up builds spanning the tri-state area project values average from $5M to $50M typically with some mega projects part of the portfolio exceeding 1 Billion.
As a Senior Construction Estimator joining their interiors division you will be expected to manage the following on a daily basis:
- Analyzing and interpreting architectural plans/ construction blueprints.
- Breaking down the complete construction scope across projects valued to $10M independently
- Capable of performing detailed quantity take-offs and organizing the quantities with unit pricing in production of a complete cost estimate.
- The ability to build a full conceptual cost estimate from architectural sketches/schematics.
- Experience across lump-sum DesignBuild and GMP contract types.
- Providing detailed proposals and accurate bid packages competent across all trades inclusive of MEPs (you dont need to be an expert in MEPS just understand the fundamentals).
- Experience in developing and implementing value engineering solutions to drive down project costs for the owner while maintaining a high level of construction quality.
- The ability to negotiate throughout the bidding process.
What youll need to succeed
In order to be successful as a Senior Construction Estimator you will have 8 years experience competitively bidding for commercial project work within a General Contracting Construction Management environment weighted across interior fit-out and renovation project work. You will be comfortable bidding on projects valued at up to $10M independently and be competent across all trade packages inclusive of MEPs. Experience using Pro-core or OST take-off software is advantageous.
