Position: Network Technician

Job Description:

We are seeking a Network Technician to provide hands-on onsite support for rack-and-stack operations and network infrastructure in a production data center environment.
-
The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with physical network hardware including cabling PDUs switches routers and server racks.
-
This is a part-time onsite role (2 3 days per week) supporting ongoing infrastructure deployments and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
-
Perform rack-and-stack of network and server equipment in data center racks
-
Install label and manage network and power cabling (fiber & copper)
-
Connect and configure PDUs switches routers and patch panels
-
Perform basic network device setup and verification
-
Troubleshoot physical connectivity power and hardware issues
-
Maintain accurate cable maps rack diagrams and asset records
-
Follow data center safety change management and documentation standards
-
Coordinate with remote network and infrastructure teams
Required Skills & Experience
Experience with:
-
Structured cabling (Cat5e Cat6 fiber)
-
Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
-
Switches routers firewalls
-
Patch panels and rack layouts
-
Ability to identify ports trace cables and label connections
-
Basic understanding of networking (Layer 1 2)
-
Comfortable working in live production environments
-
Physically able to lift and mount equipment (servers switches racks)
Nice to Have
-
Experience in colocation or enterprise data centers
-
Knowledge of Cisco Juniper Arista Dell HP networking gear
-
Prior smart hands / data center technician experience
Candidate Availability Requirement
Preferred availability examples:
-
Available any 2 3 weekdays per week
-
Able to support daytime business hours (8 AM 5 PM)
-
Open to flexible or rotating schedule as required
