Job Summary

Job Summary:

The Business Analyst role requires a professional with a strong background in SAP Finance and municipal accounting. The individual will be responsible for documenting business requirements creating test plans and ensuring financial systems adhere to regulatory standards. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize operations and provide end-user support.
Location:Toronto Ontario Canada
Responsibilities:

- Document business requirements and functional/detail requirements.
- Review and provide input to business requirements.
- Prepare and maintain associated project documentation.
- Create test plans training materials and system documentation.
- Prepare and maintain SAP business process documentation.
- Participate in project planning change management communications testing training go-live and post go-live support activities.
- Ensure that financial systems adhere to regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Mitigate risks by recommending controls within SAP systems.
- Identify inefficiencies within financial workflows and recommend improvements enabled by SAP.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize operations.
- Analyze complex data and convert business needs into technical solutions.
- Prepare functional specs for development objects.
- Document various types of tests (unit functional integration system regression penetration performance and user acceptance testing).
- Create process and configuration documentation.
- Document options to support decision-making by project leadership.
- Document key decisions.
- Provide input for training and sustainment model.
- Document issues and risks.
Required Skills & Certifications:

- Completion of a professional accounting designation or a Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in accounting or financial management.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in SAP Finance or related roles including experience in system implementation and end-user support.
- Extensive SAP business analyst project related experience.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and business processes.
- Proficiency in SAP Financial Modules (FI CO) and an understanding of SAP integration with other systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Proven skills in team collaboration and stakeholder management.
