Job Description:
The L3/L4 Network Engineer role is responsible for supporting designing implementing and maintaining complex network environments in a multi-LAN/MAN/WAN setup. The role requires deep hands-on expertise with routing switching wireless security and enterprise network operations along with leadership and mentoring responsibilities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Design implement troubleshoot and support complex enterprise network systems
Lead complex and large network projects from design through implementation and support
Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor to departmental and hospital staff
Provide highly skilled technical assistance in network planning engineering and architecture
Develop technical standards for network-related projects
Identify evaluate and recommend new network hardware and software solutions
Interface with vendors regarding hardware and software purchases
Assist with oversight of Network Services outsourcing partners including SLA reviews
Proactively identify analyze and resolve network issues
Participate in network services on-call rotation
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades as required
Create and maintain network-related documentation
Maintain strong working relationships with management customers vendors and peers
Required Skills:
Five years of network support operations and/or planning experience
Experience working in multi-LAN/MAN/WAN environments
In-depth understanding of networking routing and routed protocols
Solid understanding of OSI and TCP/IP models
Experience with network monitoring diagnostic and packet analytics tools
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and statistical skills
Operational understanding of complex network environments
Customer service oriented mindset
Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint Access Word Excel and Visio
Cisco wireless networking experience
Cisco ISE experience
Cisco DNA/DNAC experience
Security and firewall appliance experience
CCNA certification or higher
Experience mentoring and leading technical teams
Experience in healthcare or hospital network environments
