ROLE TYPE: Full-Time

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Outpatient/Intake Therapist is responsible for providing therapy in CFAs outpatient department including the Social Competency (SC) program and the Student Transition Enrichment Program (STEP) collectively known as Specialized Autism Services. Key responsibilities include providing group individual and family therapy; conducting intake assessments; and completing related documentation. This position reports to the Outpatient Clinical Supervisor.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Must be available to provide services during program hours which include evening and Saturday hours
  • Base schedule is Monday-Thursday from 10 A.M. to 7 P.M. and Saturday from 9:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan coordinate and facilitate group therapy with participants in Social Competency and STEP programs reflective of the groups developmental level and clinical needs.
  • Guide new employees in understanding appropriate responsiveness to clients in group settings.
  • Provide individual and family therapy sessions for clients engaged in outpatient therapy.
  • Meet with the client and the responsible guardian (if the client is a minor) to conduct and complete a Level of Care Assessment and write a comprehensive report following any intake interviews that will be incorporated into the individuals evaluation.
  • Review all information gathered including previous evaluations IEPs and treatment plans to complete the intake process.
  • Complete and submit all billing information for Level of Care Assessments intake sessions and therapy sessions.
  • Implement the Center for Autisms clinical philosophy by emphasizing the importance of individualized assessment and treatment planning.
  • Complete all relevant documentation including client treatment plans consents etc. and ensure all documentation is in compliance.
  • Serve as a backup in the absence of the STEP Lead Hybrid.
  • Provide guidance to interns/volunteers in understanding appropriate responsiveness to clients as assigned by supervisors and/or the Program Director.
  • Collaborate with members of the identified clients treatment team.
  • Perform other job-related duties in area of responsibility as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to play on the floor and run with/after clients
  • Able to comfortably perform a series of flexibility exercises
  • Able to move (repeatedly) from a standing position to a kneeling position and back
  • Able to bear weight on each knee
  • Able to lift and carry approximately one-third of own body weight

EDUCATION:

Must have a masters degree from an accredited program in an area of human services such as social work psychology counseling marriage and family therapy or related

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of one year of direct care experience with individuals with autism and/or direct care experience with children adolescents or young adults

SALARY GRADE: 17
