About the opportunity Are you passionate about fostering collaboration and driving positive environmental outcomes As the Independent Chairperson of the Pakenham Mt. Shamrock Environment Review Committee (ERC) you will play a pivotal role in guiding constructive dialogue between industry government and the community. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a respected forum providing oversight for the environmental performance of the operator for the Mt Shamrock Quarry Holcim Australia ensuring transparency in quarry operations. This is a complex role requiring sophisticated stakeholder engagement skills and an attention to detail.

You will make an impact by

  • Leading and facilitating approximately four ERC meetings each year to ensure productive and inclusive discussions.
  • Preparing clear agendas and concise meeting summaries that reflect key outcomes.
  • Liaising with stakeholders to coordinate site tours and engagement activities.
  • Ensuring the ERC operates in line with its Terms of Reference and objectives.
  • Representing the ERC in communications with external parties when required.

What you will bring

  • Proven experience in complex group facilitation mediation or consultation with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong and independent chairing skills with the ability to manage difficult discussions.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate conflicting opinions and maintain impartiality.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and organisational skills including timely preparation of agendas and reports.
  • Capacity to identify risks issues and solutions across political cultural and operational contexts.
  • Experience with industry consultative committees or primary industries (desirable).
  • A commitment to transparency integrity and collaborative problem-solving.
