Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- The Line Management of all Southern Region Military Apprenticeship Coordinators (MAC) which will include welfare discipline mandatory training requirements and administration duties for SJARs and MPARs managing planning and Quality Assuring all TG1 and TG13 RAF Apprenticeship activities for the Southern Region. The incumbent will be required to allocate a balanced workload for all staff.
- Regularly reviewing Apprentice work areas for their continued suitability to meet Apprentice and Apprenticeship requirements. This will include carrying out feasibility studies for prospective employment areas.
- Maintaining a safe and inclusive working environment for all staff and Apprentices and ensuring all Apprentices are assessed in a fair and equitable manner catering for Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) where necessary and appropriate.
- Carrying out the duties of a Vocational Qualification (VQ) Assessor and Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) for Aeronautical Engineering Apprenticeships up to and including Level 3. This will include monitoring and recording staff performance and maintaining and regularly reviewing and recording performance statistics and coaching and mentoring where necessary.
- Ensuring the continued accreditation by our civilian accreditation body and that the requirements of stakeholders such as the Department for Education (DfE) Skills England Ofsted Ofqual and HQ RAF Apprenticeships are met maintained and monitored for continual improvement opportunities.
- Ensuring all assessment staff are adequately qualified and trained for their role and undertake suitable and sufficient CPD to maintain currency.
- Carrying out managing and coordinating activities associated with preparing Aeronautical Engineering Apprentices for their End Point Assessment (EPA) liaising with the Military Independent Assessment Authority (MIAA) to maintain up to date knowledge of EPA requirements.
- Managing hosting and carrying out Internal and External audits.
- Maintaining their VQ Assessor and IQA competence and undertaking assessment and quality assurance activities for the work-based qualifications required for Learners to complete their respective portfolios.
- Assisting in the development and continual improvement of Apprenticeship Standards and associated policies processes and documentation including their IT related systems.
- Management of Regional Apprenticeship Centres infrastructure and resources monitoring fitness for purpose projecting future needs and staffing necessary improvement/works requests. Ensuring 6 monthly H&S inspections are carried out.
- Ensuring all records hardcopy and electronic are maintained up to date and in accordance with data protection requirements. This will include MODNet MIS Tracker and any future systems such as OneFile.
- This is a limited commitment post and the incumbent will be required to travel with overnight stays to other MOBs throughout the UK as part of their core role duties for training to attend standardisation meetings and to participate in QA activities.
