Position Summary: The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides occupational therapy services to residents under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT). The COTA assists residents in developing recovering and maintaining the skills needed for daily living and meaningful activities. This role plays a vital part in delivering person-centered compassionate care that aligns with Campbell Streets mission of Developing Exceptional People Who Drive Extraordinary Care.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide occupational therapy treatments as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans to help residents improve functional abilities.
  • Document resident progress treatment sessions and outcomes in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Observe report and communicate resident responses progress or concerns to the OT and interdisciplinary team.
  • Assist with adaptive equipment use and training for residents and caregivers.
  • Support residents in activities of daily living (ADLs) therapeutic exercises and functional mobility.
  • Maintain a safe clean and organized therapy environment.
  • Adhere to all facility policies regulatory standards and ethical guidelines.
  • Participate in care planning meetings in-services and team collaboration.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the applicable state
  • Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
  • Compliance with all state and federal healthcare regulations

Preferred:

  • Experience in skilled nursing long-term care or rehabilitation settings
  • New graduates are encouraged to applytraining and support are provided
  • Experience working with geriatric or medically complex populations
