Salary: G- 50269
Contract: Full Time 37hrs permanent.

Due to career development within the current staffing team an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Walsall Adult Social Care South Locality Team as an Advanced Practitioner. The ideal candidate will already have demonstrated competence with supporting staff and a commitment to their continued professional development with a post qualifying qualification as a Best Interest Assessor Practice Educator or Approved Mental Health Professional.

You will support the Team Manager in daily operations and help improve outcomes for adults in Walsall. Youll ensure staff follow legislation council policies and Social Work England standards.

You will have a role to support and promote practice improvement and development within the team through professional mentoring participation in continued professional development sessions and high quality consistent reflective supervision and appraisal for a small group of staff within the wider team.

There will also be opportunities for your own development through Walsall Councils internal and external learning and development offers.

The team is made up of a Team Manager Advanced Practitioners Social Workers Social Care Facilitators and Occupational Therapists with a wealth of experience amongst us.

We undertake assessments support planning and reviews under the Care Act 2014 working closely with health partners commissioners and other external agencies to provide a holistic approach to supporting individuals.

We work to a strengths-based and risk enabling model to achieve great outcomes and independence for the people we support.

About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed professional who is qualified as an AMHP BIA or Practice Educator with experience of supervising and supporting staff to help shape and deliver our service.

The successful applicant will be ready to support the Team Manager to deliver the day to day oversight and support of the team and to improve outcomes for the adults of Walsall known to our team. You will be responsible for supporting staff to deliver the best outcomes while ensuring they operate in a manner consistent with legislation the councils policies service specific standards and the Social Work England Code of Practice.

You will contribute and facilitate practice improvement and development within the team to

  • deliverstrengths-based assessments
  • support planning and reviews under the Care Act 2014
  • Risk Assessments
  • Mental Capacity Assessments
  • Adult Safeguarding Enquiries

You will be confident in settingthe standards for Social Work practice and approaches to assessment be able to demonstrate dynamic problem solving by leading and developing the behaviours of team members. The right person will possess a can do approach that is focused on continuous professional improvement and is measured by improved outcomes for the people of Walsall.
