The Senior Brand Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the financial operations of multiple brands within a rapidly growing multi-state platform. Partnering closely with the Brand Controller and Finance leadership this role manages day-to-day accounting operations supports timely and accurate financial reporting and ensures compliance with accounting standards. The Senior Brand Accountant also contributes to acquisition integrations oversees offshore accounting resources and collaborates cross-functionally to deliver reliable financial insights that support business decision-making.
Primary Responsibilities
Own core accounting operations for assigned brands including journal entries reconciliations and month-end close activities.
Prepare review and analyze financial statements providing variance and flux explanations to Finance leadership.
Oversee cost allocations intercompany transactions and support audit and compliance requirements.
Partner with Brand Leaders to deliver accurate timely financial reporting aligned with close schedules.
Supervise and support offshore accounting teams providing guidance training and quality oversight.
Support financial integration activities for new acquisitions including banking AP and general accounting transitions.
Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes systems and internal controls.
This is a hybrid position coming into the El Segundo office 3x per week.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or CPA preferred with 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience with NetSuite Big 4 or national/regional firms and multi-location or healthcare organizations is preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and concepts.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced high-volume environment with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Offshore team management experience is a plus along with effective verbal and written communication skills.
Skills
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in accounting software like NetSuite.
- Strong problem-solving data analysis and multi-tasking abilities.
- Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements reconciling accounts and managing ledgers.
- Effective cross-functional collaboration and resolution of complex business issues.
- Excellent attention to detail time management and organizational skills with a proactive and analytical approach to financial data.
Skills
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting controls
Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with accounting systems (NetSuite preferred)
Analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple brands and deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience working cross-functionally with Finance FP&A Operations and IT teams
Effective people leadership and coaching capabilities
Qualifications
5 years of experience in accounting financial reporting or audit support
Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-location organizations
Prior experience mentoring or supervising junior or offshore accounting teams preferred
Exposure to acquisitions integrations or public accounting environments a plus
