Job Summary

Project Accountant

Location: St. Louis MO
Work Type: On-Site Full-Time
Salary-$55000-$75000
Vendor fee- 3%

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Accountant to support project teams at our St. Louis headquarters.

This role ensures project financial information is accurate timely and compliant with contractual and organizational requirements. The Project Accountant plays a critical role in supporting project financial health through billing cost tracking compliance monitoring and financial documentation management.

The ideal candidate demonstrates ownership initiative strong organizational skills and the ability to think critically in a deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with preparation of owner billings and subcontractor invoices to ensure timely and accurate cash flow
Coordinate accounts payable and accounts receivable activities; identify and resolve discrepancies
Support job cost tracking expense coding and account reconciliations
Establish and maintain project financial records including contracts subcontracts purchase orders and change orders
Monitor subcontractor/vendor compliance (insurance certificates lien waivers certified payroll)
Serve as a financial support partner to Project Managers and Engineers
Assist with project closeout including final billings and reconciliations
Prioritize workload effectively and deliver accurate results in a deadline-driven environment

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Associate or Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
OR 5 years of equivalent construction accounting experience
Working knowledge of accounts payable accounts receivable and job cost accounting principles
Experience with construction accounting/project management systems (Viewpoint Procore GCPay Oracle-based systems preferred)
Familiarity with AIA billing processes preferred
Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency
