Job Summary
Underberg Area KZN: Our client is looking for a Farm Manager to join the team.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Matric.
- Agricultural Diploma/Degree advantageous.
- Min of 3 -5 years previous livestock husbandry & cropping experience
- Computer literate
- Attention to detail reliable & honest
- Ability to adapt and work in potentially challenging conditions and situations
- Horse-riding an advantage
- Must have sober habits and be willing to work long hours & weekends when on shift/ when needed.
- Must speak Zulu & be good team worker self-driven & motivated.
- Responsible for herd & flock health: Ability to diagnose and effectively treat potential issues & run dosing & drug programme
- Understanding of feedlots shearing reproductive programs & animal nutritional requirements
- Produce bales silage & mix feed and monitor usage
- Monitor herd fertility including vet runs for fertility testing & AI of stud sheep
- Basic knowledge of fencing and machinery repairs an advantage
- Experience in fire burning & veld management
- Being mechanically & maintenance orientated
- Ability to cull vermin an advantage.
- Ability to drive JD sprayers planters tractors & combine harvesters an advantage.
- Flexible approach to work happy to fill in where the team needs him.
- Must be professional energetic and diligent with a good work ethic essential
