Job Summary
Overview
- Plan and deliver high-quality engaging lessons that meet the needs of ANGLO teenage students
- Work closely with colleagues in the teaching team to deliver the ANGLO experience
- Embrace the communicative approach to language teaching and create an engaging inclusive learning environment in language lessons excursion lessons and project lessons.
Your role & responsibilities
- Liaising with the Teaching Manager and/or WTS with regards to all relevant teaching and student matters
- Teaching levels and course types as directed by the TM/WTS planning all classes sufficiently and marking students work
- Selecting appropriate supplementary materials demonstrating sensitivity to the students needs and cultural backgrounds
- Completing a weekly scheme of work
- Completing attendance registers accurately and reporting any absence or sickness to the TM/ATM at the beginning of each lesson
- Being familiar with and following guidelines outlined in the Teacher Manual
- Attending and participating in teacher briefings meetings and CPD sessions when required
- Ensuring students are prepared for presentations excursions and cultural visits
- Responding to any issues incidents and/or complaints in an appropriate and timely manner; ensuring that the Teaching Manager is informed as required
- Exploiting every opportunity for students to learn English both inside and outside the classroom
- Creating a positive learning environment which is well-organised and supports the introduction of British culture as part of the curriculum
- Providing students with adequate feedback on their work
- Accurately completing the students academic reports
- Following ANGLOs safeguarding and welfare policies at all times
- Demonstrating a high level of professionalism at all times
Requirements
- You have the right to work in the UK
- University degree TEFLI qualification or equivalent experience (e.g.: CELTA Trinity CertTESOL PGCE 120 hour TEFL course)
- Native or near-native English fluency
- Dynamic teaching approach
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills team player attitude
- Commitment to high-quality customer service displaying a positive can-do attitude
- Ability to work under pressure strong work ethic and ability to implement change
- Committed to continuing professional development
Desirable
- Prior experience of teaching U18s
- Young Learners teaching qualification
- Summer school experience
- Experience of project-based courses and/or task-based learning
- Experience of Trinity GESE exams
