Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and validation of detailed 2D and 3D mechanical designs using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Develop accurate geometric dimensioning and tolerating (GD&T) for precision manufacturing.
- Prepare comprehensive assembly drawings general arrangement (GA) drawings and technical documentation.
- Generate and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) with accuracy and consistency across product variants.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into functional designs.
- Conduct prototyping testing and evaluation of new designs to validate performance and reliability.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on design-related failures and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards including BIS and ISO regulations.
- Support manufacturing and quality teams during production ramp-up and troubleshooting.
- Maintain design databases version control and documentation for audit and traceability purposes.
- Participate in design reviews DFMA (Design for Manufacturability and Assembly) and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 25 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for 2D/3D modeling simulation and drawing generation.
- Demonstrated experience in creating GA drawings assembly drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of BOM preparation revision control and data management.
- Experience with prototyping processes and physical testing of mechanical components.
- Solid knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies (e.g. 5 Whys Fish-bone FMEA).
- In-depth familiarity with BIS and ISO standards relevant to mechanical design and manufacturing.
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications and translate them into practical designs.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Experience working in agile or lean manufacturing environments is a plus.
