Job Summary
Senior Ruby on Rails Developer (SaaS & API Integrations)
Experience: 7years
Work Mode: 100% Remote
Job Type: Contract
Contract Duration: 6 months (may get extended)

Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails - Build robust backend systems for SaaS platforms and high-traffic applications - Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and third-party integrations - Work closely with product frontend and distributed teams to deliver features end-to-end - Write clean maintainable and well-tested code following engineering best practices - Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues - Participate in Agile development processes and sprint planning - Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical decision-making - Ensure performance scalability and security of applications in production
Required Skills & Experience -
Strong experience in software development with a focus on Ruby on Rails - Proven experience building and scaling production-grade web applications - Solid understanding of REST APIs backend architecture and system design - Experience working in Agile environments preferably on large-scale SaaS products - Ability to quickly gain fluency in new technologies and adapt in an evolving tech environment - Strong problem-solving skills with a broad technical knowledge base - Demonstrated success in mentoring developers and guiding engineering best practices - Clear communication skills and the ability to build high-trust relationships with teams and customers - A strong history of past projects including notable successes and lessons learned - Demonstrated interest in improving engineering craft using AI tools and modern development practices
Integration Experience (Mandatory) -
Hands-on experience building integrations using REST APIs - Experience working with third-party systems and external APIs - Understanding of authentication webhooks and data synchronization workflows - Experience with API-based integrations with QuickBooks (QBO) Xero or similar financial systems is highly valuable
Work Requirements
Comfortable working in a distributed team environment - Must be able to provide a minimum of 4 hours overlap with Pacific Standard Time (PST) - Ability to collaborate effectively with international teams and customers across time zones
