Duties of this position will include assisting with pre-summer camp planning; overseeing camp operations and activities; assisting with planning and implementation of camp training staff meetings and agenda preparation; ensuring HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development are incorporated into programming; providing direction and feedback to Counsellors; responding to parent and staff concerns; preparing supply orders; completing attendance lists schedules incident reports correspondence with parents and supply tracking; utilizing online surveys to gather parent feedback; providing feedback for Counsellor evaluations; completing a post-summer camp report to assist with future programming; and other duties as -time enrollment or completion in a post-secondary education program related to recreation or education would be an assetPrevious experience working with children including a minimum of four (4) years of work experience in a camp or recreation settingStandard First Aid/CPR certificateExperience using Microsoft OfficeExperience with XPlor Recreation (formerly PerfectMind) recreation program software would be an assetHIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child DevelopmentHIGH FIVE QUEST 2 would be an assetValid Drivers License in good standingThe successful candidate will be expected to work some weekends depending on program and training needs. The successful candidate may also be scheduled to assist with the Camp Counsellor interviews. Mandatory camp training days are scheduled in June and the successful candidate must be available to work on Canada Day. Hours of work will be thirty-five (35) hours per week prior to the start of camp and then ranging from forty (40) to forty-four (44) hours per week during camps depending on business Range: $27.32 to $29.55 (2026 rate)Please note:Virtual interview formats are available for this Town student positions are subject to budget approval and thus may be subject to candidates will be required to complete a background check including either a vulnerable sector check or a criminal record and judicial matters check as permitted under Ontarios Police Record Checks Reform Act and in accordance with the duties of the candidates are invited to apply no later than 12 p.m. on January 30 2026.
