Job Summary
War Memorial Hospital (WMH) is a 3rd Schedule Aged Rehabilitation hospital situated in Waverley owned and operated by Uniting and part of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD). Services are comprised of 24-hour inpatient care Monday to Friday outpatient departments iREAP Day Rehabilitation program several specialist community teams inclusive of Transitional Aged Care Geriatric Flying Squad Young Onset Dementia and day centre program 24-hour accommodation service for regional guests and the full range of hospital support services. It is set within beautiful tranquil grounds and is a well-supported team more about War Memorial Hospital at the following link:War Memorial Hospital video An opportunity has become available for an Allied Health Assistant to join the Occupational Therapy Department at War Memorial Hospital Waverley which specialises in aged care and rehabilitation. This position will primarily provide assistance to the occupational therapists and be involved in the management of the Equipment Loan Pool. Other duties include assisting with individual therapy group programs and patient mobility as well as general administrative duties within the position is a full time permanent role available from February 2026. Work days are Monday to your application describe how you meet the following selection criteriaSelection Criteria:1. Certificate III/IV in Allied Health Assistance or willingness to work towards same2. Experience working with older people in a health care environment and an awareness of the range and use of assistive equipment in a health care setting3. Proven excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills4. Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and work with minimum supervision to organise work priorities and manage time effectively5. Demonstrated computer literacy including ability to use the MS Office suite of programs6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment 7. Knowledge and understanding of Work Health Safety Act & Regulations 2011 and WHS principles8. Competent driver with a current NSW Drivers Licence Class CAll Category A NSW Health workers are required to have received an annual seasonal Influenza vaccination or have an approved medical contraindication certificate.
